RECORD SHOW RE-BOOKING FIGURES REVEAL GREEN SHOOTS IN THE NORTH WEST
The organiser of Business North West, one of the UK’s largest and most successful business shows, is reporting green shoots of recovery in the regional economy with a record number of new businesses signing up for the event at Manchester Central on 28-29 October. The show is on target for its annual sales and revenue growth of 10% and is also reporting re-booking figures of over 50%.
Nationwide Media Group, which organises the annual Business North West, regards the commitment from SMEs to exhibit at the show as evidence of raised confidence in the North West economy.
Speaking about Business North West, Scott Hider, Managing Director at Nationwide Media Group said; “Our events have grown in successive years and have become major events in the local business calendar, attracting a wide range of exhibitors, visitors and organisations. The record re-booking figures should be particularly welcomed given the current economic climate. Clearly, SMEs see the importance of marketing themselves aggressively and consequently see the value of exhibiting at Business North West.
“Obviously, businesses which exhibited last year have seen good returns on their investment. We have been able to secure high profile speakers and have put together a programme of seminars which have been designed to be essential to visitors. It is also positive to see that many SMEs are exhibiting with us for the first time.”
The 2008 event attracted over 200 exhibiting companies and 5,500 visitors, with an abundance of business deals being confirmed both during and after the event. Visitors to the event are presented with a range of additional features including; keynote speakers in the Business Link Innovation Lounge, Business Link Speed Networking sessions, the Angels Den Theatre, the Google University and a programme of ‘How to’ seminars from local business experts. Exhibitors and visitors are also invited to socialise over drinks at the region’s largest networking event.
