The Susutainable Hub

The harsh reality of business today is that you need to develop a sustainable strategy to compete. On the one hand we are seeing the emergence of ‘the low carbon consumer’ who is choosing to spend their money with businesses and brands they consider to be sustainable and ethical, and on the other hand businesses are being forced to be more sustainable through legislation. Businesses that want to work with the public sector in particular will already be aware that having a strong environmental policy can be the difference between securing work and losing out to other companies.

At Business North West we recognise that SMEs are under increasing pressure to be more sustainable, therefore we have given our exhibition a strong environmental angle. For the first time the exhibition will feature a ‘Sustainable Hub’, an area dedicated to companies who offer environmental solutions to other businesses.

Companies exhibiting within the sustainable hub will be able to offer advice on how your own business can ‘go green’ and how this can also be of benefit to you. They will also be able to offer ‘green’ services to you and your business in order for you to lower your carbon footprint and become a more environmentally friendly company.

Companies already exhibiting within the Sustainable Hub include:

IEMA
The Carbon Trust
Foundation
C-Tech Innovation
Envirolink North West
Redfern Travel
Environment Connect
MHL Support
Manchester City Council
Energy Saving Trust

As an SME ourselves, Business North West is also under these pressures and is adapting to these changes.  Therefore we would like to share this knowledge with you, on how your business can take advantage and adapt to meet these new demands.

To find out more information on other environmental issues being discussed at Business North West follow the link to the Great Green Debate. This ‘Question Time’ style debate is taking place within the Innovation Lounge on both days of the exhibition. It will feature a selection of panellists who are experts in the fields of sustainability and business. Here you can put forward your own questions to the panellists, discussing the reality and problems faced by businesses looking to make themselves more environmentally attractive.

A selected amount of questions will be chosen prior to the debate. To be in with a chance of asking your question to the panellists you will first need to register online to attend. Then please send your question to greendebate@nwe.co.uk. If your question is selected you will be contacted prior to the event taking place.
